OK, I've been doing the Secret Circuits now for a few weeks and am feeling the benefits of working out around three times a week. Let's bump it up a notch.
The Secret Circuits will remain for those of us who lead very busy lives, i.e. mums, working mums, students, full time workers, laborers, etc. So how it will work is, every Monday night there will be a new Secret Circuit for that week, going by your rota or your days off you choose which work outs will suit you on what days. The duration of the circuits will be kept fairly short between 20 to 30 minutes (because we be busy bees), but intense enough to feel the benefits of working out. So long as you work out up to 3 days a week you're beating those who haven't gotten up off the sofa yet. The goal for myself personally this month is to be able to do the splits. This was actually one of my new years resolutions so I'm challenging myself to keep that one despite it being August. Because New Year Resolutions are all year round thing, not just the "to do list for the first week of the year". Anywho, stretches and warm ups in this month's series of workouts will be focusing on becoming more flexible. Cardiovascular thrown in there to get the blood pumping and fat burning, a muscle group once a week so the muscles don't get too tight that I can't attempt the splits the next day. Some Yoga/Pilates to help enhance the stretches and improve flexibility, then finally a gentle cool down to finish it all off. All being well by the end of the month I will at least be closer to the goal than I am right now. I am as flexible as a telegraph pole so that will give you an idea as to how difficult this is going to be. So here's the break down in bullet points:- 1) Warm up/stretches 2) Cardiovascular 3) Yoga/Pilates 4) Cool down *Disclaimer* I am not a trained... person of fitness, so please talk to your doctor if you feel necessary before doing workouts. You are responsible for and know your own body, so if you have an injury, either sit it out or take it slow and gentle. Don't push too hard that you hurt yourself, same goes for myself.
