I love this girl! Her voice is so soothing and she explains all terminology in yoga so simply!
This was the first Sarah Beth Yoga video I ever completed, I find it so relaxing and perfect before bed when I'm having a hard time nodding off, or feeling very stressed etc. I normally love the half lotus position, as my hips would be tight. Practicing yoga helped me to become a bit more flexible. But since I have been focusing more on cardiovascular and muscle toning workouts I've become tight all over again. So I'm trying to not only do my weekly schedule of workouts but as well do some yoga on top of it, at least every other day to help myself to detox and become more flexible and at ease. In other news, doing well with the surprise circuits! I highly doubt that after this week I will do all 6 days every week. It will realistically be more like 3-4 workouts a week, with working shifts etc. But at least I will have it planned and have options. As of next week I will probably lay them out in a table format and include the duration of the whole workout so as people (should they decide to join me on this) know how long each one will be before selecting it. And if they have a busy day they can choose a shorter duration workout etc. Also been looking at the stats for this blog and found out that I'm getting about 40 views a day! Which is fantastic! Because I honestly thought it was just me on here! Hahaha! and no I am not just constantly hitting the refresh button hahaha!

Normally I break out in spots around my hair line on my face, I sometimes get oily skin and would be the sort of person that always has my hands up to my face. Be it sitting at the computer for too long and I have my head resting on my hands. Or someone is too close for comfort so I put a hand up to my face to try and create a small barrier between me and them if I can't physically move out of the way. My boyfriend used to tell me off for it, and I try not to do it but I sometimes find myself touching my face without even realizing it sometimes. I was away in Spain there for a week and found that the sun really clears my skin up. It dries up all the oil and makes it feel really silky smooth. So I am now starting a new skin care routine which consists of:- 1) Sun light - I may not see much of it, and granted the first half of this month has been torrential rain as opposed to hot summer weather. I will try to go outside (when it is at least dry) to let the wind and air at my face. Also fun fact; you don't need direct sunlight to get Vitamin D, you just need to be able to see the sky (not just from your window, be actually outside). I'm a red head with naturally fair complexion which means I can still absorb Vitamin D even in dull weather. So get outside and get that Vitamin D 2) Wash face twice a day (am/pm)- Seems to go without saying, although a lot of people (and sometimes myself included in that bracket) when they have a bad break out will tend to wash their face more frequently. This actually doesn't help at all, in fact it can make the problem more of a, well, problem. What I have started to do is use these bad boys.
4) Moisturiser - I tend to alternate between moisturizers to be honest and this is probably my biggest downfall. I alternate between Astral Cream and basically anything lying around the house. When my skin is bad I use this Witch Hazel night time gel by Boots, which works while you are sleeping. My moisturizer depends on how bad my skin is. Sometimes I will only apply Witch Hazel gel onto the affected area. For now I'm trying to use Astral cream for 2 reasons. (i) I heard somewhere that Astral is great for keeping skin soft and youthful, and that oil is great for fighting oily skin, ironically. (ii) My mum used to use it when I was a child and I adore her skin as it glows so beautifully, she used it since she was 14 so I want to keep using it for nostalgia's sake, to smell like my mummy :) Lol. This my skin 2 days after my holidays (s'cuse the fluffy pajamas, trying to adjust to a completely different climate now! haha). Only maybe three spots on my forehead at the most. This is great for me! My skin has never looked or felt better! It feels so much healthier and I intend on keeping it that way. So sunlight is definitely good for your skin, although everything in moderation. And I did apply sun cream.
I also heard it said by someone that it is a good idea to keep your skin care routine as simple as possible. The less complicated products you use the better. I am thinking of starting this every Sunday, Completing a weeks worth of workouts that can be completed each day, you can do all 3 workouts per day every day for six days or do three days a week and complete the other three the following week depending on your work schedule. The reason I am calling this circuit surprises is because 1) it has a nice little ring to it 2) you only see the links you don't see what the videos are, so one you click them you have to give it a try. I'm aware that this is Tuesday but the idea only came to me last night so lets call this a trial run and see how we get on lol! I'm gonna try this for the next month and see if I see any visible improvements. Another reason I thought this would be a good idea is because, it gives more variety of youtubers, allows people to know that you don't need to go to the gym to get fit, you can build up muscle or lose fat at home. I arrived back home this morning around 2:30am... :(
I'm glad to be home in my own bed but at the same time I could have easily stayed in Spain for another week. The week was full of adventures with the boyfriend, his family and lots of their family friends. Go-karting, quad biking, jet-skiing, food, karaoke, more food, Indian Food, swimming, pool volley ball, beach, more food. You seeing a pattern here? Lol! I ate a lot of food. I always find my appetite when I'm on holidays and I think that it might be because I relax more and my stomach relaxes with it so there is more space for food. We're talking, clearing my plate and eating other people's food as well as desert! haha! Anyway, it was a really busy but relaxing holiday at the same time. Took lots of photos. The sites were lovely, the heat was a nice change. In the mean time poor little Northern Ireland has torrential rain and downpour. So it was fun to wind my friends up about being so warm and a little water wouldn't go amiss haha! I did some yoga and swimming while I was there, but since it was so warm I kept the yoga to a minimum as I didn't want to over heat. Sun Salutations and some warrior poses was all I could stick. Swimming was good fun, and very refreshing. One of my friends who came with us is a fantastic swimmer and has inspired me to do it a bit more as it is definitely good exercise and a lot of fun. I love having a break from real life. I love the feeling of being relaxed, and am going to try and incorporate that into my daily life. Today I used to catch up on some well deserved sleep in my new memory foam mattress. So excited to not have a sore back! lol Drink lots of tea, chill out, tidy a little, organise presents, and browse on pinterest. However from tomorrow, it's all about focusing on getting into a routine of learning Spanish, looking for jobs, exercise, reading, yoga and sleep. I have to say, for once I'm excited about it :) Here's some pics of my adventures :) This video is great for de-stressing and relaxing, particularly at bed time. I love this girl she is very inspiring and easy to listen to and makes her instructions easy to understand, especially for beginners. I recommend you try it even if you aren't particularly stressed, and keep practicing this sequence as it allows you to find yourself in that quiet place, allowing you to refocus your thoughts and prioritise daily life better. In other news, do you like my new layout? I have been contemplating getting a different design for a while now. It's not as exciting as the previous one, but I kinda like the plain look at the moment.
I'm off on holidays to Spain tomorrow, so won't be posting anything for a week. But once I come back I'll upload some pics of my adventures. Adios :) I like to try out things on Pinterest, a lot of the time they fail. For instance I tried to enrich the brown tones in my hair by using a coffee soak in my hair. My hair stunk and was stick despite washing and shampooing it out and it reeked of coffee. Today I tried something I read on Pinterest about hair removal using only coffee granules and baking soda. It stings. It did not work. So I decided for the sake of beauty, I would make my own little thing that would actually work and not be dodgey to try. I've made a hair mask/body scrub. Disclaimer: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, use your noggin and don't apply this mask. Ingredients:- 1) 1 tsp Baking soda (Great for enhancing blond tones in the hair if you are blond, or if you want lighter coloured hair for the summer time.) 2) 1 tsp honey (good at healing and promoting good health in skin and hair) 3) 4 tsp nettle tea (I just thought I'd try it because it sounds healthy. I have no actual evidence to support that it is good for your hair or skin, but it sure does sound good) 4) A squirt of Olive oil (It is known for it's good properties in promoting nourished looking skin, as is) 5) 1 tsp coconut oil Leave the hair mask in for half an hour.
